About Us

Carbon Legacy & Sustainability Limited is an independent UK organisation that enables bereaved families and those of us planning for the future, the opportunity to mitigate the impact upon the environment caused by carbon emissions from funerals, whether from cremation or burial itself and the funerals of the future.

Co-founders, Jonathan & Kelly, have been involved in the energy and environmental sector for more than 30 years. Jonathan has held senior and board level positions in energy & environmental consultancies and assisted decarbonising some of the largest public and private sector organisations in the UK. Kelly has been involved in numerous roles in the energy industry but most recently sourcing environmentally friendly and carbon neutral products for online retailers.

"It was after a loved ones funeral, that we first thought of the need to minimise the impact on the environment arising from funerals".

We have been fortunate to benefit from a broad network of energy and environmental organisations helping us provide a solution to the decarbonisation of the funeral sector. We also enjoy working with a fantastic team including some amazing undergraduates from within some of the UK's leading academic institutions.

Our mission is simple, we want to provide a solution for the entire funeral industry to decarbonise including funeral directors, funeral homes and crematoriums.
